The Goals
The ‘Digital Careers Upskill Programme’ aims to improve diversity and gender imbalance with women currently accounting for just 18% of technical roles in the digital industry according to Manchester Digital’s Annual Skills Audit.

The free training is available for residents in the Greater Manchester Area and has been made possible thanks to Greater Manchester Combined Authority securing £42m from the European Social Fund for its three-year Skills for Growth programme, which is aimed at tackling skills gaps identified by businesses across the city-region.

The Digital Bootcamps
The programmes consist of up to 12 weeks of self-paced and Expert Instructor-led training. Every learner is assigned their own coach and a personal learning path is laid out online, so nobody is left behind!

Each Programmes consists of 192 Learning Hours (24 days), over a period of up to 12 weeks, which can be studied either:

• Full Time with 20 hours of Guided Learning Hours per week, or
• Part Time with 10 hours of Guided Learning Hours per week

Everyone will study the following Foundational Building Block:

As the first stepping-stone in this course and to build up digital literacy, you will learn how to effectively use devices, software and the internet to collaborate with others and discover, use and create information using the Microsoft Office products Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.                    

Next, you will learn about the fundamentals of cloud computing with:

• Microsoft Azure,
• Data Fundamentals,
• Microsoft Power platform
• Microsoft 365

In addition to this, you will learn about security, compliance, and identity fundamentals. Learning at your own pace with online learning and meeting fellow learners during instructor led courses.
